Returns receiving & Production Manager


Key Responsibilities Area (KRA’S)

1) Management

  • General management of the Returns and Production division.

  • Reporting non-compliance returns procedures to Key Account/ National Sales Managers.

  • Reporting on Product/Store concerns to Key Account manager/Sales Manager/Area Manager/Marketing

  • Manage returns in terms of Policy, repairs etc.

  • Product quality escalations and technical assessment reporting to Supply Chain Manager

  • Refinement of existing procedures / Implementation of new procedures within various departments of responsibility.

  • Managing and processing monthly write off stock from production.

  • Assessing returned stock.

  • Setting of production targets.

  • Ensuring targets are in line with that of the Business

2) Admin duties

  • Pulling / creating reports based on the business requirements.

  • General administrative duties.

  • Generating weekly returns reports for stores that are non-compliant to the policy.

3) Customer relations

  • Maintaining positive relationships with various customers and clients.

  • Dealing with escalations of debtors queries.

  • Communicating discrepancies on returns to the retail outlets / customers.


(Knowledge, Skills, Attributes)

  • Matric / 7 - 10 years working experience in warehousing

  • General Production / Supply chain knowledge.

  • Previous exposure to a WMS essential.



  • Computer literacy (WMS)

  • Communication skills

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Planning and organising: Establishing courses of action

  • Managing all sales-related functions and staff at retail account(s) and stores

  • Control of direct expenses and profitability of retail account(s)

  • Implement retail strategies

  • Negotiate space and promotional activities with retailer(s)


Skills/expertise required

  • 5+ years experience in FMCG/Retail industry

  • Excellent sales, operations and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage staff and retail account

  • Proven relationships with major retailers

  • Commerce degree preferred

  • Ensuring that demo areas meets Verimark standards

  • Attendance of training and meetings at selected venues by the Company

  • Keeping up to date with product knowledge.

  • Ensuring that :

    • Merchandising

    • Gondola ends

    • Free Standing Units

    • Demo areas

    • Cross Merchandising

    • Displays
